About Us

The Bonny Kingdom Education Trust Fund (BKETF) is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), initiated by the Amanyanabo of Bonny, His Majesty King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple (III), CON, JP, Perekule the XI, Natural Ruler, and Amanyanabo-in-Council. BKETF was incorporated under the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2009 with the aim and objective

• To promote academic excellence/ educational advancement at all levels,     among the target groups, individuals, and or persons of Bonny     Extraction, so as to eradicate illiteracy thereof through the award of prizes, grants and scholarships.  

• To identify the essential target areas for educational development in the Bonny Kingdom and to encourage/facilitate the availability of qualified and relevant manpower suitable for the various sectors of the Nigerian economy.
     
• To identify and provide educational advisory services to the target groups, individuals and or persons of Bonny extraction, manage and apply the trust fund for the advancement of the set objectives.
     
• To source for financial aid for the trust fund, receive donations, grants, etc in form of cash and or educational materials for the trust fund from companies, foreign/Local Bodies/ organisations, government, individuals and or groups.
     
• To apply and or utilize the monies/funds of the trust fund for the advancement/attainment of its aims and objectives thereof
     
• To organise national conferences, seminars, workshops colloquia, etc on current issues of importance for the sensitization, enlightenment, mass literacy and adult education, from time to time for the benefit of the interest groups of Bonny Kingdom.
     
• To sponsor deserving sons and daughters of Bonny extraction to viable foreign or local courses, programmes, conferences and or trainings.
  

The Bonny Kingdom Education Trust Fund was born out of the dire need to eradicate illiteracy in the Bonny Kingdom and to enhance development in line with the emerging global trend by raising qualified manpower to fit into the various sectors of the economy. For this reason, His majesty for and on behalf of the entire people of Bonny Kingdom established an educational trust fund to be known and called the BONNY KINGDOM EDUCATION TRUST FUND (BKETF).
